Earlier this year i did a print of a capitalistic construction robot. I really liked this piece and about 3-4 weeks ago i finished actually building this sucker. Here are some pictures.

Here is a picture before it was painted, the whole piece is constructed out of different types of wood, from balsa to bass and whatever else i could find.

These are pictures of it in the Art Center gallery.. Kind of hard to see without a white wall behind it.

Heres pictures of it with a light shooting into the model, casting a shadow very similiar to the two dimensional silkscreen print.. The Constructacon is abaout 3 ft tall and the cranes around 5 ft tall.

thats awesome!

did you use balsa and bass for specific parts for specific reasons?
or did you just use whatever you had?

very very cool.

Thanks everyone for the comments.. it took a while to finish building and painting this sucker, but it was alot of fun also just to sit there and piece everything together. Balsa and bass was used because that was all i had around me.
