It was pretty great when the NY Times called me for this sort of odd assignment. I was asked to not only draw but, stake out a water fountain in LA(where I'm from) for an hr or 2 to see how the fountain was, and who had visited the fountain within the that time period.. being around lunch time.
The outcome wasn't too surprising for me.
Also a piece on military suicides, post war.
Having a friend that went to Iraq it was pretty interesting to hear his take on his experiences dealing with life after war.
